Kimberly R. Kellison is a scholar of religion and race in the American South. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Kellison’s monograph titled Forging a Christian Order: South Carolina Baptists, Slavery, and Race, 1696-1860 (2023) was a finalist for the George C. Rogers, Jr. best book of South Carolina history. She is currently working on a book project about religious growth and dissent in Texas in the late 1800s. Dr. Kellison previously held leadership roles in Baylor’s Department of History as Undergraduate Program Director (2011-14) and Chair (2014-16) before assuming a full-time role as Associate Dean (2016-present).
