Toward a Hemispheric Black Baptist Political Theology: Brazil–U.S. Dialogues on Race, Spirit, and Social Witness

Breno Nunes de Oliveira Seabra is a PhD student in Theological Studies at Emory
University. Born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Breno served in a number of
ministerial capacities before moving to the US to earn a Master of Divinity from Western
Theological Seminary. His current research explores the intersection between the doctrine of
creation, theologies of human identity, and political theology, with a special focus on
contemporary social challenges. He is also interested in Christology, theological
anthropology, Trinitarian theology, ecclesiology, post-supersessionist theology, race,
liberation theology, World Christianity, and sociology of religion.
